We offer many of our standard housings in PTFE, Hastelloy, Monel, Titanium, Inconel, and other machinable materials. PTFE is in stock for immediate delivery. Typically we keep a handful of small Hastelloy and Monel units in stock, otherwise delivery is normally within four weeks ARO. If your process stream or environment is corrosive, we typically can produce a filter housing to meet your needs and offer a filter element to match. For inexpensive OEM applications we also offer a line of molded Kynar housings in place of machined PTFE units.

Perfluoroelastomer O-Rings (Branded Name: Kalrez™)

Have an exotic application? Need Perfluoroelastomer O-Rings? We realize in many applications your standard Viton or Buna-N O-Rings are not suitable. We therefore stock a large variety of Perfluoroelastomer, Silicone, and EPDM seals for our various filter housings. We will also install the O-Rings into the housings prior to shipping. This assures you of receiving the correct product with proper installation and proper lubrication.

Oil Indicating Disposable In-Line Filters. Great Alternative to Balston® 9900-05-BK

Our DIF-BN50i is a perfect alternative to the Balston® DFU 9900-05-BK, which is used in the HVAC industry. These filters contain a red dye that bleeds through the element to provide an accurate visual indication that oil is present. The red dye permeates through the element upon oil saturation, making visual monitoring quick and easy. Our product is an equivalent to the Balston® 9900-05-BK DFU since it shares overall dimensions with the Balston® DFU.

Need an alternative to a Balston® 9933-05-BQ or a Finite® IDN-6G; our Model DIF-BN50 is the answer!

Our Disposable Inline Filters, also known as DIF’s, are great alternatives to the Balston® DFU Series or the Finite® IDN Series. DIF’s are ideal for many analytical/instrumentation systems from environmental monitoring to portable gas detection units and more. They are an inexpensive light weight solution for high-efficiency filtration requirements. The DIF’s are the final line of defense in an instrument system, and the nylon version offers easy monitoring of particles with its clear see through body. The DIF-BK version is white in color indicating its pure virgin material, unlike the blue dyed Balston® 9922-05-BQ. This is ideal for corrosive service.

Standard DIF’s consist of our bonded microfiber filter element rated at 0.01 micron encased in a permanently welded plastic body. Additional filter elements such as sintered polyethylene or stainless steel screens are available as well.

We offer various sizes of DIF’s in both Nylon and PDVF (Kynar) body construction. Standard connection sizes are ¼” tube stubs, ½” tube stubs, or ¼” MNPT.

Multiple Uses for Large DIF’s

The DIF-LN50C-1/4” is an inexpensive option as a small vacuum pump exhaust filter. It can be used on a number of pumps where a maximum of 3 SCFM is being vented.

Keep in mind some pumps may need adapters for the DIF-LN50C-1/4”, but this is common for vacuum applications.

The filter unit is ideal since it has a high efficiency (0.01 micron) microfiber element encapsulated in a clear nylon body. Tubing can be attached to the drip leg drain to evacuate the collected coalesced oil from a bench top vacuum pump. It is a nice compact unit, which once spent, can be easily disposed of.

Also, the DIF-LN50-1/4” and DIF-LN70-1/4” (no drain) are ideal alternatives to end-of-line filtration for environmental monitoring systems. They too use a 0.01 micron fluorocarbon bonded borosilicate filter element, which captures particulate at the sampling point. This is inexpensive, but effective protection for sample line and control system cleanliness.

The DIF-LN housings can also be supplied with our PEL (10, 25, 75 micron) elements or SS screens for effective, low cost liquid filtration.

Looking For An Alternative For The Fisher 252 Filter?

We are often asked to supply alternative products. One customer needed a housing similar to the Fisher 252 but with a higher working pressure. The Fisher 252 is rated at 2,150 psig (190 bar) and we offered an extended version of our 122 series filter housing called the 122LB-PVF series. This housing uses the same size filter element as the Fisher type and can be used as a direct replacement.

The 122LB-PVF is designed specifically for pilot-operated pressure regulator applications and is ideal for high pressure compressed gas and pneumatic filtration. Like the Fisher 252 our 122LB-PVF series is able to clean the supply of gas and air before it enters the pilot of a pilot-operated pressure regulator.

Our assembly and filter elements provide a massive cost savings over the Fisher. By offering a higher pressure rating, a smaller footprint and a variety of elements with superior efficiencies the 122LB-PVF is an excellent upgrade to the Fisher 252 Series. Plus, the elements are completely interchangeable between the two assemblies. We also offer a 122LB-PVF with a 1/8” FNPT top head port which makes installation on some systems easier. This unit is designated as 122LBTP-PVF.
