United Filtration offers a full range of filter assemblies comparable to the Parker/Finite H-Series for Compressed Air & Gas. Our assemblies are 100% machined anodized aluminum which provides superior pressure ratings than the Parker/Finite H-Series for Compressed Air & Gas.

This design allows us to rate these housings at 500; 1,000; and 1,500 psig. They come standard with NPT threads and are available with SAE threads. Our CS grade of coalescing elements are ideal for compressed natural gas applications because of their robust design and high efficiency rating.

We have CRN accreditation for our Canadian customers.

Super-critical CO2 Botanical Oil Extraction Applications

Super-critical CO2 is becoming an important commercial and industrial solvent due to its role in chemical extraction and its low toxicity and environmental impact. Fractional Extraction uses the solvency power of CO2 at different pressures and temperatures to isolate desired oils, waxes and other herbal distillates from a variety of plant species.

Our food grade 316L Stainless Steel Filter housings (130, 140, 150, and 160 series SS Housings) are ideal as traditional filters or as pressure vessels in a variety of Botanical Oil Extraction applications. With pressure ratings from 1500 to 6000 PSI and temperature ranges from -40°F to beyond 400°F our stainless steel filter housings are desirable when maximizing the broad extraction power of CO2 is the goal. In addition our standard housings can be modified to meet specific needs as far as port sizes and other details within reason.

Nine Questions to Determine the Correct Filter Housing

Our wide range of filter housing and element combinations enable us to supply the most suitable product for your application and specifications.

To select the correct filter housing the following information about the application is required:

Questions:

1. Maximum Pressure

2. Maximum Temperature

3. Chemical & Physical Composition of the Stream

Items 1, 2, and 3 will determine the materials of construction of the filter housing, including the element and gaskets. Filter housings are available in a wide variety of standard and exotic materials to ensure there is a product for even the most demanding applications.

4. Type of Filtration Required: Particulate, Coalescing, Bypass, Fast Loop, Liquid-Liquid, Vacuum Inlet or Exhaust

Item 4 will determine the configuration of the housing, one port for inlet filters, two ports for in-line housings and three ports for coalescing, bypass or fast loop housings. Liquid-liquid housings may have variable designs based upon #9. Vacuum inlet filters generally have two ports, whereas, exhaust units have three for coalescing.

9. Relative Importance of Cost, Response Time, Ease of Service, and Interval

Items 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will establish the most appropriate size of filter. This is generally a compromise between those factors favoring a small filter (fast response time, smallest space requirement, lowest cost) and those factors favoring a large filter (long service intervals, low pressure drop).
